Happy Independence Day! But, did you know there is something better than independence? In fact, it’s the opposite of independence. Happy 4th of July! But, did you know there is something better than what happened in 1776 on the 4th? I am thankful that I was, “Born in the USA… Springsteen,” I do pray “God Bless the USA… Greenwood,” but I’ll decline on the “Party in the USA… Cyrus,” because I have found a better celebration and a greater joy than anything this country or this world has to offer. I enjoy fireworks, but there is a better fire that can be seen and experienced, and that is deeply satisfying. This is why I love gathering together on Sunday mornings with God’s people every week! I love the church! I look forward to seeing you all in the morning as we worship our great God and hear from His perfect Word in Rev. 4:1-11 and see how it shows us this “something better.” Is your name signed on the document that is greater than the Declaration of Independence? I hope so, but if not, that can change…
